Lincoln Police have made an arrest in connection with a large fight in the Haymarket on Saturday night that injured two officers. LPD says during the brawl at 8th and ‘N’ Streets an officer’s body-worn camera was knocked off their vest.
Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says a sidearm magazine also fell from their vest. The camera was found in a dumpster, but the magazine has not been located. Investigators were able to identify the suspect who took the camera.
23-year-old Syncere Lewis was contacted at his home and taken into custody without incident. He was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked for theft by unlawful taking.
