Nebraska freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola is working through a back injury and is questionable for Saturday’s game at USC, Coach Matt Rhule said Monday.
Raiola left the Huskers’ last game against UCLA Nov. 2 with a back injury, pushing Heinrich Haarberg into the game in the fourth quarter. Raiola has also battled ankle and arm injuries in recent weeks. Haarberg finished the UCLA game and started eight games at quarterback last season for Nebraska.
With Raiola hurt, Haarberg and Daniel Kaelin have gotten the bulk of the work in practice the past week as Dana Holgorsen has assumed the reins as offensive coordinator. An update on Raiola’s status is expected in Rhule’s next media briefing Thursday.
