This could be an uncomfortable subject, but in the era of COVID, we have to think that since we have had plenty of time on our hands…and no newspapers anymore that are worth reading.
That said, ba the day, how many of us took the newspaper with you when you went to the bathroom? In our house, if was the Sports section during Baseball, comics, if I had to return in the same day…then there were the job ads in the Spring.
Now that newspapers are passe’, the sports coverage is old and there aren’t comics anymore, then you find that the job ads are all online. So what’s the point? We cancel the newspapers and have all gone online…so guess what happened?
Since phones are like electronic leashes…and they have everything you have ever wanted to find, read and play; they have become the go-to thing to take to the bathroom. What is even more interesting, the younger you are, the more likely this is to happen.
Viogard did a survey about this very subject and they found
- Almost a quarter of the people admitted to being on their phones while standing at a toilet or urinal
- Men AND women, both, admit to taking their phone with them while sitting upon the throne.
- 1/3 of the people said that they NEVER clean their phone….75% said they did it once a day (um…those numbers don’t add up. Someone is lying)
- 50% clean their phones with their shirts. the other 50% said they clean it with a sanitary wipe.
- Virtually all the people in the survey said that they think viruses are transmitted from surfaces…like cell phones.
At the end of the day
- If you take your phone to the bathroom, clean it!!!
- Don’t borrow anyone’s phone. Chances are they were just in the bathroom with it and it is dirty.
