Lincoln Police are looking for a man who beat up a Kwik Shop clerk at 14th and Adams during a robbery around 5:00 Sunday morning. Officer Erin Spilker says the 38-year-old woman told police that a man came into the store and asked to make a purchase.
When she opened the cash register, the man reached into drawer. The victim told officers that she tried to stop the man and he then knocked over the plexiglass divider and jumped over the counter and began assaulting her. “A very scary situation. The store was in disarray, things were turned over and pushed down,” Spilker says. “A pretty significant assault.”
The man then fled the store with an unknown amount of money. The victim was transported to local hospital. Her injuries are not considered life threatening. Officer processed the scene for evidence, canvassed the area, and are analyzing store security video.
This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
