Lincoln Police are investigating a drive-by shooting just before midnight Friday that damaged a fence and a car but the bullets missed two teenagers.
Officers responded to the 5300 block of West Superior Street on a report of gunshots heard. Two 17 year old males told officers they were in the area looking for a lost item when a car drove up and someone from inside the vehicle yelled at them. The victims reported that they then heard gunfire and the vehicle then sped away.
Neither victim reported any injuries. Officers located several spent shell casings and bullet damage to a fence as well as the victim’s vehicle. Officers processed the scene for evidence, canvassed the area, and are analyzing video from neighbors in the area.
This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
