You know the old saying “fake it ’til you make it”? Well, if you can actually pull it off, it could be a sign of your intelligence.
According to Evolutionary Psychology, the whole concept of BS-ing your way through a conversation shows off your ability to be quick thinking.
Lying…hmmm…Disturbed yet?
The article points out that if someone can BS their way through an interview or through a test, which resulted in the person getting a job or a good grade, doesn’t mean that this is a sociopathic trait…it is a sign of intellect.
How on the flip side, those people who BS well don’t use it very often….and many don’t even know that they are doing it. It just comes naturally.
Conversely, those who do the BS-ing are also more susceptible to believing the BS of other people.

Well, here is another layer for you. The type of BS that BS-ers are doling out is divided into art-speak and pseudo-intellectual BS. The problem here is that if you run across a BS-er, then the chances are that you won’t be able to tell the difference.
