Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to a two-alarm fire around 2:45 Friday morning at Paramount Linen and Uniform Rental just south of 27th and Randolph. When firefighters arrived there was heavy smoke and fire in the back corner of the building.
LFR says the fire was in a receiving enclosure where soiled laundry is off-loaded for cleaning. The sprinkler system had activated and fire crews were able to keep the fire in that area. The rest of the building has extensive water and smoke damage. The cause of the fire cause is still under investigation.
No employees were in the building at the time of the fire. 27th Street was closed for several hours.
