A woman was hospitalized with serious, but non life-threatening injuries after a crash around 12:40 Tuesday morning at 40th and Normal. LPD Captain Max Hubka told KLIN News a northbound vehicle ran a red light and t-boned a west bound vehicle on Normal.
“Once they collided they slid all the way up into the Pinnacle bank parking lot on the northwest corner of the intersection,” Hubka says. “Thankfully they missed colliding with a number of objects on the side of the road, including traffic poles, a fire hydrant and trees.”
Hubka says the driver of the northbound vehicle that ran the red light is a 17 year old male. “He was found to be under the influence of alcohol and not safe to be driving a vehicle,” Hubka says. “He was transported for breath testing and cited and released for DUI and violation of the automatic traffic signal.”
