Goodbye To 11 Beers

By Steve King Aug 4, 2021 | 8:33 AM

The pandemic has hit just about everybody on different ways: businesses close, menu’s change at restaurants, supplies are not as readily available. And even though statistics have shown that beer drinking has increased at extremely high rates over the last 18 months, some beer brands just aren’t cutting it as the “go to” flavors.

Molson Coors has a number of brands like Keystone that people are very familiar with.  But brands like Keystone also have what are known as offshoot brands, like Keystone Ice, Keystone Light, you get the point. The main stays will remain but certain other specialty styles will be going by the wayside

So what’s going away?

  • Keystone Ice
  • Keylightful
  • Icehouse Edge
  • Mickey’s Ice
  • Milwaukee’s Best Premium
  • Miller High Life Light
  • Hamm’s Special Light
  • Steel Reserve 211
  • Olde English HG 800
  • the entire Magnum brand
  • Henry Weinhard’s Private Reserve

While 11 brands sounds really dramatic, keep in mind these were minor offshoots, many of them created during the “ice beer” era. That era has long gone. And considering and considering that Milwaukee’s Best had a “Premium”; isn’t the “Best” supposed to be a synonym for “Premium”?

Well, the removal of these beers will create more space on the shelves for your favorite beers and you won’t have to wade through all the secondary beers that you (and everyone) else forgot about to start with.
