Ahead of Tuesday’s statewide primary election, Secretary of State Bob Evnen is reminding Nebraskans that his office’s Election Security Unit is standing by should concerns arise. Anyone can call the Secretary of State Elections Division office on Election Day with questions, to express concerns or, if applicable, to file a formal complaint.
“If any Nebraskan sees something they feel is amiss at a polling place, we want them to let us know so we can look into it,” Evnen says. “Our staff is trained to take down the information for follow-up. After further investigation, if the complaint is found to be credible, it will be passed along to the proper authorities for action.”
Evnen says many questions can be satisfactorily answered by the Secretary of State’s fully trained elections staff, and any concerns that constitute a threat to election security will be thoroughly investigated.
To report concerns about election security call the Elections Division Office at 402-471-2555 or toll free at 888-727-0007.
