The Nebraska softball team added another pitcher to its staff after Lorin Boutte announced she was transferring to the Cornhuskers from Ohio State. She has two years of eligibility remaining. Boutte will look to rebound after a sophomore season with the Buckeyes in which she battled injuries while amassing a 7-7 record and a 5.99 ERA. But as a freshman, Boutte was one of the top pitchers in the Big Ten, helping OSU to the NCAA Regionals with a 21-9 record with a 3.63 ERA. She had 127 strikeouts against 66 walks that season.
Boutte joins a Nebraska pitching staff that already returned third-team All-American Alexis Jensen and added two-way transfer Faith Aragon from New Mexico State. The Huskers saw USA Softball Player of the Year and Big Ten Pitcher of the Year Jordy Frahm and left-hander Hannah Camenzind graduate and right-hander Kylee Magee leave to transfer to Arizona State.
