A cross-country cycling team dedicated to supporting people with disabilities is making a stop in Lincoln today. The Journey of Hope North team, organized by The Ability Experience, will arrive in Lincoln after riding 95 miles as part of a 4,000-mile trip from San Francisco to Washington, D.C.
The group includes 20 cyclists and six crew members who are spending their summer raising awareness and support for people with disabilities nationwide. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the cyclists will take part in a Friendship Visit with the Arc of Lincoln at Eastridge Presbyterian Church.
The event will feature games, activities and conversations designed to celebrate inclusion and build meaningful connections with participants. Journey of Hope organizers say the riders average about 75 miles per day and, along with corporate sponsors, are expected to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to benefit people with disabilities across the country.
