A two-vehicle crash at 22nd and South Streets in Lincoln Thursday afternoon sent three people to the hospital. Lincoln Police say one vehicle was traveling eastbound on South Street and attempted to turn left at the intersection. The second vehicle was headed west on South Street in the outside lane and was proceeding through the intersection.

Investigators say the eastbound driver failed to yield while turning left and collided with the westbound vehicle.  The force of the crash took down the stop and street sign on the northeast corner of the intersection.

The eastbound driver told officers she believed the other vehicle was turning because a left turn signal was on.   The westbound driver said he was driving through the intersection when the other vehicle turned in front of him.

Police cited the eastbound driver and released her at the scene. LPD says two people from the eastbound vehicle and one person from the westbound vehicle were taken to the hospital for treatment.
