Bryan Health is expanding access to breast cancer screenings with Sammy’s Bus, a mobile mammography unit serving Lincoln and surrounding communities. The specially equipped vehicle provides the same high-quality 3D mammograms available at Bryan’s medical centers.

Appointments take about 20 minutes, and screenings are available regardless of insurance or financial situation. “Sammy’s Bus provides women access to life-saving mammograms in underserved areas,” Bryan Medical Center Radiology Manager Anne Dorn says. “This mobile unit helps break down the barriers of distance and time so that early detection is possible for anyone, anywhere.”
Sammy’s Bus began service in late July and will travel to communities where access to breast cancer screenings is limited. It is the only mobile mammography unit in Lincoln. Patients must be at least 40 years old, be one year removed from their last mammogram and have an order from their primary care provider.

Appointments can be made by calling 402-481-5121.
