Nebraska football fans heading to Memorial Stadium for Saturday’s home opener against Ohio will see some changes around the stadium and throughout Lincoln. Nebraska Athletics says construction and street projects around Memorial Stadium will affect traffic flow, walking paths, parking and some stadium entrances.
Several gates will also be closed. Gates 1, 6 and 8 will remain closed throughout the season, while Gates 18, 19 and 21 will close after kickoff. Gates 17 and 22 are not open to the public, and Gate 11 will be used only as an ADA and service entrance.
Fans are reminded that Memorial Stadium has a no re-entry policy. Once a fan leaves the stadium, their ticket becomes invalid. The stadium is also cashless, and all tickets are mobile through the official Huskers app. Fans are encouraged to download their tickets and parking information before arriving.
New food options are being added this season, including N-shaped pretzels, Fairbury Polish sausages, dry-rubbed wings and breakfast tacos for 11 a.m. kickoffs. The Cornhusker Kickoff pre-game Fan Fest will open at 8 a.m. Saturday inside the Hawks Championship Center. The free event includes entertainment, kids’ activities, food, merchandise and Husker appearances.
StarTran will not operate the Big Red Express this season. Instead, iPronto will provide game-day shuttle service from four Lincoln locations, with reservations required. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. Saturday.
