Nebraska middle blocker Manaia Ogbechie was named Big Ten Player of the Week by the conference office. Ogbechie led the No. 1 Cornhuskers to a 3-0 week, piling up 33 kills while hitting .547, averaging 3.3 kills per set. That includes a career-high 12-kill effort Friday against No. 20 Baylor, during which she hit a blistering .571. She followed that by matching her career high with 12 kills Saturday in the win over Georgia Tech. Ogbechie is the first Husker to be named conference player of the week this season, though Bergen Reilly was named Big Ten Setter of the Week earlier in the season.
Ogbechie and Nebraska face No. 15 Creighton Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Pregame coverage begins at 5 p.m. on KLIN and B-107.3.
