A two vehicle crash on Highway 2 at 40th Street late Thursday morning claimed the life of a woman. Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to the scene just before 11:00.
Investigators determined that a grey Honda Accord was northbound on south 40th Street and collided with a red Jeep Liberty that was eastbound on Highway 2. Both drivers were transported to local area hospitals. Police say the driver of the Jeep Liberty, a 66-year-old woman, died of her injuries.
The other driver suffered life threatening injuries. Accident Reconstruction Investigators have been processing the accident scene and officers have been conducting interviews with witnesses. This is an ongoing investigation.
