There are heroes among us, working every day to make our communities great. Froggy98 and Hometown Hero Appliance Repair want to recognize these deserving heroes and share their stories!
This month we are honored to recognize BETHANY SEDIVY.
Bethany was nominated by her cousin, Kayla:
“Hero: a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities=Bethany. Bethany is a Registered Nurse at the Pender Community Hospital where she is described as compassionate, very caring, and the type of nurse everyone wants taking care of them!
When she found out that Carly’s (another nurse at the hospital) five-month-old son, Banks, was becoming very very sick and was placed on the liver transplant list and would need a transplant soon to survive, Bethany was the very 1st person to step up and go through the extensive process to see if she would be considered “A match”. Bethany’s Birthday is July 4th and she purposely waited to celebrate her own birthday on July 5th in hopes that her birthday wishes would come true and did they ever! Bethany was considered “A match” on July 5th and on July 6th she selflessly donated part of her liver to save baby Banks’ life.
Our small town now describes Bethany as a superhero, liver giver, angel, and last but not least a true LIFESAVER…and this is why Bethany deserves to be recognized as a Hometown Hero!”

Hometown Hero – Bethany Sedivy
We are so excited to introduce you to our September Hometown Hero: Bethany Sedivy! 🦸❤️Bethany is an RN at the Pender Community Hospital, and when she found out that a coworker's 5 month old baby was desperately in need of a liver transplant, she volunteered to see if she would be a match. Test results came back showing she was indeed a match, and the very next day she underwent surgery to donate 25% of her liver to baby Banks, and they are both now doing great!Bethany was nominated by her cousin Kayla, and will receive $250 thanks to our friends at Hometown Hero Appliance Repair.
